Starting October 1, 2005, the HRS Employment
office of Middle Tennessee State University will implement a new
online employment application system for recruitment of all
positions. This new system will allow you to search jobs,
complete an application, apply online and check the status of
your application on the internet. Applicants have the
ability to attach cover letters, resumes, and related documents
to the electronic application at the point you apply to a
position. All applicants will be required to complete an
application in the new online employment system.
Review job listings on the bulletin boards in the
Employment Office, call the Job Line at (615) 898-5353, or use the
Internet to access the
MTSU Jobs Web Page and
select Search Postings. New users may search job
postings, apply for a job online, complete an application and access
the system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You must provide all
required information and receive a confirmation number to verify you
have completed all steps to apply for the job. You will not be
able to apply for positions once the filing deadline has passed and
the position is closed.
If you have previously submitted a paper application,,
effective October 1st, you will be
required to complete an electronic application in the MTSU Jobs
online Employment system. Human Resource Services will provide
assistance to applicants who do not have a computer with Internet
access Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., 215 Cope
Administration Building.
Access the
MTSU Jobs online Career site to complete an application. To create a new
application, select the Create Application link and follow
the directions.
Once you have completed an online application, you may apply to
new jobs without reentering your application information. You
may edit your existing online application if you have changes in
your name, address, telephone number, education, work history, etc.
You may review the status of any job postings you
have applied to from your computer Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week. Many Administrative and Faculty positions require you to
attach a cover letter, resume, CV, etc. to your application. Select
the Attach link next to the type of document you wish to
include. These attached documents should be 1) limited to less
than 2MB, 2) black and white, 3) not include pictures and 4) not be
password protected. Documents may be imported from your
existing files or you may key your information directly to the
system. The MTSU Jobs online system gives you the
option to attach or remove any required documents.
Skills tests are required for all clerical
positions as part of the application process and identified in the
job posting. Test are administered by Wood Personnel at 1806
Memorial Blvd., Suite E in Murfreesboro from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
weekdays. Please call (615) 890-8400 for an appointment.
All required skills test must be completed within 24 hours of the
position filing deadline.
All qualified applicants will be forwarded to the
hiring department for review. The department will select the
applicants to be interviewed and will usually make contact within 2
to 6 weeks following the filing deadline of the posted position.
All applicants not selected will be able to check the status of any
position they have applied to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the
MTSU Jobs online system.
